I had a FANTASTIC time at CONvergence this weekend. I'm back and the con is officially over for another year. Currently catching up on what I've missed on LJ/DW since last Wednesday and watching last year's con DVD.

I'm glad I got to see lugia222, vulchu, firearmofmutiny, and all the others who flew in for the con. And of course EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD I KNOW on top of that, because that's what con is for. (Hurrah!) Missed everyone who could not be there this year greatly.

There were many shenanigans had, including the masproductions Aretha Franklin hat flash mob in karaoke, the Guerrilla Slash Panel, and a certain panel that took place entirely on Twitter that was extraordinarily geeky. (And simultaneously awesome.)

Also, hello new friends from the Chicks Dig Time Lords and Guerrilla Slash panels! I'm glad many of you friended me because to my great distress, I lost the piece of paper with your LJs on them. Hopefully it'll turn up. ETA: FOUND!

To all the staff who make CONvergence happen every year, I want to say THANK YOU. Your professionalism and hard work make this convention one of the highlights of my year and you always impress me with how smoothly everything goes, year after year. Keep it up!

"You know, being stalked isn't really a big turn-on for girls." Not really what you would think of as a vid proper since the music isn't driving the story, but a very cool critique nonetheless. And another interesting case of it being termed a "remix" instead of a fan vid.

For once, I find myself with some unexpected freetime, so I'm going to rec all the vids I really should have been reccing for the past month or so in one massive post chock full of amazing.

Right now I'm playing vids, encoding/burning a DVD, and installing programs at the same time. BECAUSE I CAN.

If I get really crazy, later I might run more than one Abobe program at once.

What's with the lack of posting today? I've been away the entire working day and I can count the number of new entries on my f-list since this morning on one hand.

There's lots of stuff happening around the internet to be posted about!

And then there's news that Hiro Mizushima is going to play Ryusuke in an upcoming live action Beck movie. (Nanba-senpai!)

So over the weekend my long suffering desktop, The Precious, shuffled off to Mount Doom. Luckily I've been able to save most of the stuff off my hard drives (with the notable exception of my Star Wars folder, which had some ten years of fandom stored in it, sigh) so the loss isn't too profound.

Just ordered my new computer today and once it gets here, I have no excuse to not be vidding ever again because it has a metric fuckton of RAM. (Okay, well, 6GB. But that's 6x the RAM of any computer I've ever had! And it could have EVEN MORE should I so choose.) Which is good because the frustration of trying to vid with The Precious has put me off quite a lot of projects.

Anyway I'm excited. And I have vid bunnies that will hopefully actually come to fruition once I get the new system up and running properly. I may actually make more than one vid a year. Who knows! The possibilities are endless.

In other news, John Barrowman is an epic dork and I love him.

I think I'll watch some of No Heroics now. I'm told it's good? ETA: I have been accurately informed of its goodness!

I have wasted entirely too much time at ontd_startrek today.

But somehow, I can't regret it.
